Looks like more national recognition for Columbia!Kaldi's Coffee Roasting Company--located right here in The District--was named byGQ Magazineone of the ten best places in America to get your coffee fix. GQ calls them "a serious midwestern player in a game dominated by the coasts."
To try them out, head over to 9th & Cherry (where, by the way, we've got a coffee shop on each of the four corners.)
For those of you who feel more comfortable sitting in the bleachers than in a coffee house, we've got more good news for you. The October 12, 2009 issue of The Sporting News ranked Columbia the 56th best town for sports out of a field of 399 cities. That says a lot, especially when you see that most of the cities ranked higher have one or more professional sports teams. Columbia was ranked 2nd among the Big 12.
The 2009 Mizzou Homecoming Parade presented by CenturyLink will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday, Oct. 24. Mizzou basketball starts Steve Stipanovich (BSEd '89) and Jon Sundvold (BSBA '83) will serve as the 2009 Mizzou Homecoming Grand Marshals.
Due to campus construction, the parade route has been modified.
Barricades will be placed along the route beginning at 8:30 am on Saturday morning. Please be aware that vehicles will not be allowed in or out of the parade route after that time.
